EMUs Master the Spirit of the Carnival

Well it’s a great thing playing football. When you are young its all about the team, mates and winning. But as time goes on, its about the team and playing great football, and as you come up against great opponents and opposition, you begin to build respect and relationships with those blokes no matter how hard you hit or get hit.

If you beat the opposition or get beaten at the end of the day it is a great game! Then if you are blessed enough to play Masters football it is all about the game and the people you meet. The EMU’s are a great team love playing against all of our opposition and enjoy and respect the game.

Our most recent outing was a tournament played in Mooroopna and was all about the spirit of masters. 10 teams came together to play football and share the important message, discussing mens health.

During the presentations four players spoke about their journeys through various mens health issues and the important message that we are not alone during these sometimes tough times.

Although the EMU’s only just missed out on winning the tournament, we were fortunate enough to be voted as the team the best represented the ‘Spirit of Masters Football’ which is the philosophy that our leaders Jacko and Jonesy strive to install in all of us.

Congratulations to all of the players and trainers for the way they conducted themselves and efforts over the weekend of football. It was also a ripper of a weekend to get the orange bus out for the weekend.

Well done to all.
